Case Study

HS2 CONSTRUCTION COMPOUNDS

Revader Security supplied its mobile CCTV towers to security and facilities management provider ESG Security for site security at two large HS2 compounds in Staffordshire.

To support the building of the new railway, HS2 Limited and its contractors have constructed two compounds either side of the A515 in rural Staffordshire, to provide storage for heavy-duty equipment and construction materials.

The compounds have a large security team on duty 24 hours a day, however the landscape of the sites means there are several points of access and blind spots. The decision was taken to deploy two mobile CCTV towers produced by Revader Security, which provide twice the visibility and coverage of fixed CCTV cameras in a cost-effective manner.

ESG Security said: “the placement of the towers on-site was straightforward, and their rugged design makes them suitable for harsh environments. The towers are ideal for deployment at sites such as these where no power infrastructure is present.”

Revader’s mobile CCTV towers are complete surveillance, recording and remote monitoring solutions which transmit encrypted live and recorded footage via 4G to any PC or handheld device. Powered by mains, fuel generator, batteries or renewable sources, they are robustly constructed yet easily towable by a standard car and quick to deploy in virtually any location.

The real time video feeds from these towers are monitored by ESG Security’s 24-hour control room operatives, with footage able to be shared with HS2 and third parties such as the police.

The tower has five high-definition cameras on its mast. The main camera is a PTZ with 360° movement and a 40-metre detection range. The cameras can operate in low-light and offer infrared illumination. Additionally there is security lighting on the mast, which can extend to a maximum height of 7m and is visible from the road several hundred meters away.

Revader Security continues to support ESG security in their comprehensive security services operational at several UK sites.
